October 24, 2026 Email to Active Group

This “Active Group 2” email is in addition to our monthly update that goes to the full list. It’s meant for members who want to take action and don’t mind more frequent messages (about once every 1–2 weeks). In this web version, some sensitive details may be omitted; the best way to stay fully informed is to sign up for the email list.

First things first:

Join us Monday to stand up against ICE and concentration camps in Palo Alto. We'll be asking City Council to place an audit of Flock surveillance cameras/consideration of contract cancellation AND a No ICE Staging on city owned property on a future agenda, and asking the Council to vote for the local detention facility moratorium. All the details are in this guide, including when/where and how to make a public comment: [expired link]. Don't wish to speak? Don't live in Palo Alto? Show up to show support (I will say: all those who support this, please stand up...)

Day of the Dead

Unfortunately, many people died by ICE in Trump II. To commemorate all the names in our butterfly memorial, we'll need enough volunteers to make it happen. This is part of the national day of action against ICE. Nov. 1, downtown Mountain View: click here

To Win Elections

There are still a few days left to make a difference in winning the elections and returning checks & balances to Congress. You can still write postcards, canvass, phone bank, or join me in textbanking (aka pressing buttons) with Movement Labs: https://volunteer.movementlabs.com/

There are also calls to cure ballots with VoPro Pros: click here

Election Watch

Join us on Nov. 3 to watch & celebrate the election returns. We'll start off at my place, food & bingo, 5:30-8pm (click here) and as the polls close in CA, we'll go to DVC to continue the party (click here).

Protect Election Results

Don't forget to sign up and spread the word about our plan to fight election subversion: https://indivisiblepeninsulabayarea.org/defend/
