This “Active Group 2” email is in addition to our monthly update that goes to the full list. It’s meant for members who want to take action and don’t mind more frequent messages (about once every 1–2 weeks). In this web version, some sensitive details may be omitted; the best way to stay fully informed is to

Please help us spread the word about our October meeting with our featured speaker, Akemi Flynn! With the election approaching, it's time to start thinking about what to focus on next. And Akemi has decades of experience in community organizing and is doing important work protecting immigrant communities right here in Santa Clara County. Whenever we bring in a fantastic speaker, I always worry whether we’ll have the turnout they deserve. So please help us fill the room! Invite friends, share the event with other groups, and encourage anyone interested in immigrant rights to join us. Remember, you don’t have to be a member to attend! RSVP and spread the link: https://www.mobilize.us/itsblueturn/event/1056051/
On November 1, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), we’ll join a national day of action against ICE by honoring and remembering those who have died in ICE custody or been killed by ICE and Border Patrol agents during Trump’s second term. We'll be a creating a giant public memorial in downtown Mountain View, join us and help us make it happen! RSVP: https://www.mobilize.us/disappearedinamerica/event/1067438/
And our monthly Signs of Fascism silent protest will be the same day to maximize the salience of this issue before the election; we're going to T&C at lunch time since there is a very high-traffic location. To RSVP: https://www.mobilize.us/itsblueturn/event/1063251/ (there is also one on Oct. 30).
- Just a few days left, please come help finish off our postcards and letters! Right now it's Florida and Mississippi on the porch, with their surprisingly competitive races! And a few letter packages to turn out young voters in MI. Come tomorrow to the postcarding party (Tue Oct. 20, https://blueturnindivisible.org/rsvp) or pick up from the porch (https://blueturnindivisible.org/pickup)

- Do you know people who are still unsure about the ballot propositions? Our friends at SIREN are holding Props & Power: Your Vote, Your Voice Town Hall at 1400 Parkmoor Avenue, San Jose on Saturday, Oct. 24, 10am–1pm. This nonpartisan community education event will include multi-language interpretation in Spanish and Vietnamese. RSVP: tinyurl.com/proptownhall-oct2026 Also come help set it up :)
- Join us on Nov. 3 to WATCH AND CELEBRATE the election returns. We'll start off at my place, 5:30-8pm (https://www.mobilize.us/itsblueturn/event/1009481/) and as the polls close in CA, we'll go to DVC to continue the party (https://secure.numero.ai/signup/Electionnight2026).
- And if you know people who are very skeptical and doom-y: "Trump will declare martial law", "Texas will steal all the ballots", etc, make sure to share this page with them: https://www.indivisiblepeninsulabayarea.org/defend
And remember: There will be a lot of rumors and panic between now and, well, the end of this whole hell, but, let’s say, until our electeds are seated in Congress in January. Before passing along scary information, please ask your friends (and yourself): Has this been verified and is this actually worth spreading?
- Sunday, October 25, at 3pm in San Jose: Join ICE Out of Gilroy, SIREN, Bay Resistance, and other community partners in San Jose for a screening of When ICE Melts, a documentary about working people organizing against ICE operations in Minneapolis. Stay for a community discussion with one of the MN 15 who will be discussing their case and how we can help build the defense campaign to drop all charges against immigrant rights activists in Minnesota. Location: 2302 Zanker Road, San Jose.
- And even more for worriers: Tuesday, October 20, at 6 PM: Join Rep. Kevin Mullin, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and California Voter Foundation President Kim Alexander for a virtual town hall on voting rights, election integrity, and protecting California’s elections from federal interference. No RSVP needed — join at kevinmullin.house.gov/live.
