We are going to the Mountain View City Council on June 23rd to demand Mountain View protects our community against ICE harassment. The Council will soon consider Agenda Item 4.15, which would prohibit the use of City property for ICE enforcement. Our two asks:
The policy appears to have strong support, but community participation matters. Showing up and speaking out helps demonstrate that Mountain View residents want the City to stand against civil immigration enforcement on City property. Sample email, contacts, and instructions and background on the lawsuit.
We'll be joined by Larry Gerston, author of Overcoming Trumpism: How to Save American Democracy, who will speak with our group by Zoom and take questions. Larry appears twice weekly as the political analyst for NBC Bay Area television. He has been interviewed on NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, BBC, NPR, and CNN's Inside Politics. He has written more than 150 op-ed articles and has been quoted in national publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, and Roll Call. I only heard from a few people :( So I'm asking again. Unless you already have firm plans for that day, I expect to see you marching with us in San Jose's Rose, White, and Blue 4th of July parade. This would be our very first time marching for Indivisible, and we need to make a great showing so we can inspire other people to join our fight. Dan M. has been working hard on creating our "float":
...so don't let us down, email me to say that you'll be marching with us!
Judy H, Luann & Rita are leading our first knit-in, knitting & crocheting resistance hats. Beginners welcome. Have any friends that knit or crochet? Let them know!

The proposed rule OMB-2026-0034, “Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance,” would allow scientific funding decisions to be driven by political priorities rather than scientific merit. If adopted, it could make federal support for research dependent on whether the results align with the administration’s preferences. A large number of public comments helps demonstrate public concern to the media, policymakers, and members of Congress, and can build momentum for legislative action.
Important: Your comment must be unique. Duplicate comments are often disregarded, but agencies are required to consider and respond to substantive individual comments. Consider sharing a personal example of how science has affected your life:
Make it personal. Explain why scientific research matters to you and why political interference in science funding concerns you. Submit your comment here: https://fight2win.standupforscience.net/campaign/omb_comment/
Postcards for our States Win candidate, Ryan Spaude in WI, should be on the porch on Sunday, along with other campaigns. You can pick up to write from home or join us for a in-person writing party every week to write.
