June 11, 2026 Email to Active Group

This “Active Group 2” email is in addition to our monthly update that goes to the full list. It’s meant for members who want to take action and don’t mind more frequent messages (about once every 1–2 weeks). In this web version, some sensitive details may be omitted; the best way to stay fully informed is to sign up for the email list.

------ PARTICIPATION

All these emails are coming from me, Mariya, a real person; it took me an hour and 7 minutes to write this. If you no longer wish to be on this list of active fighters for democracy, please be sure to let me know. Otherwise, I hope to see frequent communication and engagement from you; for example, please let me know about July 4th (see below), by replying to this email.

------ FLAG DAY AND WATCH PARTY

Please tell everyone about our June 14th Reclaim Our Flag Day! And now we will also, in fact, have the Rise Up, Sing Out national concert watch party at my place later that day (4pm, potluck, be sure to RSVP).

------ STOP ICE IN MOUNTAIN VIEW

We are going to the city council on June 23rd to demand a strong policy prohibiting the use of city property for civil immigration enforcement. See more info. Reply to this email if you can be there. Spread the word to your Mountain View friends and neighbors.

------ HELP ORGANIZE 4TH OF JULY PARADE

Unless you already have firm plans for that day, I expect to see you marching with us in San Jose's Rose, White, and Blue 4th of July parade. This would be our very first time marching for Indivisible, and we need to make a great showing so we can inspire other people to join our fight. Just think: that day will be filled with Trump's vomit-worthy stamp on what it means to be America on 250th anniversary. Let's make sure our vision prevails. Which of these would you like to do? Please reply to this email:

------ FLOCK CAMERAS IN PALO ALTO

We need EVERYONE to show up to the next Palo Alto City Council meeting to support speakers who will urge the council to cover Flock cameras and to cancel the city's Flock contract to prevent mass surveillance. No speaking needed. All we need is your presence! Join us on Monday, June 15. There will be pizza. RSVP: https://www.mobilize.us/ipaplus/event/971008/

------ USPS CAN TURN INTO VOTER SUPPRESSION MACHINE

Time for a public comment (public comments help set the ground for lawsuits later). Deadline: June 30. The USPS has proposed a rule that would move it from delivering ballots to policing them. States would have to submit voter information to a new USPS system, USPS would build a national ballot-tracking database, and ballot mailings would be checked against federal records before being processed. This proposal would create new barriers, new bureaucracy, and new opportunities for eligible voters to lose access to their ballots because of government errors.

Mail comments to Director, Product Classification, U.S. Postal Service, 475 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Room 4446, Washington, DC 20260-5015, or email comments, containing the name and address of the commenter, to PCFederalRegister@usps.gov, with a subject line of “Ballot Mail.” See more info. Points you may wish to raise:

------ SUPPORT THE HUNGER STRIKERS’ COMMISSARY FUND

Donations to the Commissary Fund help people detained at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center purchase supplemental food, hygiene products, and phone calls to loved ones and legal counsel. The fund also supports people facing serious challenges, including inadequate nutrition, barriers to medical care, and the isolation that comes with detention. Donate here: bit.ly/AdelantoCommissaryFunds

------ POSTCARDING CAMPAIGNS

Talarico postcards are on the porch (US Senate campaign in TX, Activate America, due by Aug.15)! Also register voters in OH to flip the Senate. You can pick up to write from home or join us for a in-person writing party every week to write.
