------ IMMEDIATE ASK: STOP FLOCK IN PALO ALTO

On Monday June 1, Palo Alto City Council will meet to study the deployment of the Flock surveillance system (6:20-7:20pm). Please join us at City Hall to demand that the Flock contract be terminated, Flock cameras be removed, Flock data be deleted, and the Flock system be uninstalled. Send an email to the City Council at City.Council@PaloAlto.gov before the end of the day on Sunday, May 31. Feel free to use these sample emails as a starting point. In your own words is even better. ------ DETENTION CAMPS

We had an unexpected success: we worked on this since February, reaching out to Rep. Mullin, Rep. Liccardo, and Rep. Lofgren, asking them to provide direct Congressional oversight, make an unannounced visit to the California City Detention Center, and report the findings. And they just did (well, 2 of them)! Deadline June 1st. Have you submitted a public comment to get ICE out of Dublin? I have done so on Wednesday. It's not just about Dublin or immorality of concentration camps: having an ICE facility nearby will increase ICE harassment in the entire Bay Area. Here's the info / toolkit.

------ FROM OUR ALLIES: BILLIONAIRE TAKEDOWN

Every Saturday, a dedicated group gathers outside Tesla on El Camino in Palo Alto for the Billionaire Takedown (Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 PM). The group is smaller now than when it started, but the honking has been increasing, the signs are clever and timely, and many join the Raging Grannies in song at 2:30 PM. Most of the regulars are retirees who have been showing up week after week. They are asking for our help to regrow their numbers.
Sign the anti-Flock petition circulated by Safe Stanford demanding that Stanford immediately cover the Flock cameras, cancel the contract with Flock, and commit to caring for true community safety.
